Comprehensive and Oral Exams
Comprehensive Exams
The library does not specifically keep a file or collection of
materials for help with the written comprehensive exams, but we do
have available some of the materials that are referred to on the
reading lists that are posted for the exams on Docutek.
See PGSP Librarian Scott Hines for assistance with locating those materials.
Oral Exams
For the Oral Exams, we do have in the library two resources that are
useful for study.
One resource is an audiotape which is a recording of two students
whose exams were deemed by the faculty to be exemplary, and you can
request and check that tape out at the PGSP Library circulation desk.
It is called "Role Model Students for oral exams dated 10/3/03" and it
is
tape #411 and it is stored with the other exam materials in the
Library reserves area.
Another resource is a set of books produced by a private company that are designed for studying for the state licensure tests, but they are also useful for studying for the PGSP Oral Comprehensive exams. These books are referred to in the Oral Clinical Competency Examination Study Guidelines as "Psychology Oral Exam Review Program 37th Series, Vol II (1994)". We have more recent editions of the books in the library, including the "vignettes" book that is referred to in the Study Guidelines.
These books are on reserve in the library in the exam materials section of the library reserves and you can request them and check them out at the PGSP Library circulation desk.
